Whew! That's probably my longest beginning ever! But I guess I do have a lot to say since I haven't updated lately. I've been pretty busy, and my computer has been acting up like normal. Well, lets see ... where should I start?
Last week was hectic because my layout for yearbook got deleted, and the really bad part was that all I had to do was put one more caption in and it would be done, but no,
I had to start all over. I really wish things would be more organized on the staff. We all keep losing things off of the computer, and for some reason my friend Heather and I never get our daily progress sheets back.
Hhhmm ... it's kind of mysterious.
Yesterday Heather and I had to go take pictures at a JV Boys Basketball game, and man,
the dumb ref kept stepping right in front of the camera whenever I took a picture. I was like, "Heather, is it okay if I go kick him?" and she was like, "sure, but I don't think he'll be too happy about that!" lol Anyway, we got a whole role of pictures with my camera and some with the digital. Hopefully something will turn out! I guess I've learned how hard it is to be a photographer ... especially being a sports photographer.
I took the SAT for the second time yesterday, and it wasn't so bad. Of course, this lady started talking and was like, "you either have to put your cell phones in a bucket that we have here or you need to go put them in your car." So I went with my friend Bekah to put my cell in her car, and of course she parked as far away from the building as possible and man,
it was freezing out yesterday! Ashley, if you ever read this, I have no clue how you can deal with that kind of weather for so long! Anyway, I hope I did good on the test, but I know that I'm going to take the new version anyway.
But yeah ... a little advice to all of the underclassmen out there: take the SAT in the Spring, Summer or Fall ... not in the winter when it's so cold!
Here's the poem that I've been working on for school ... let me know what you think!
Define Yourself
Life's not picture perfect,
it isn't always what it seems,
just take one step at a time,
and initiate your dreams.
Be the one who never gives up,
the one who smiles while others frown,
exist as the light in a sea of darkness,
and never let anyone bring you down.
Always see the best in others,
let your enthusiasm shine through,
follow your heart wherever it roams,
and always be the one who people can turn to.
Don't answer to an ID number,
think of good memories whenever you feel bad,
don't be categorized by a test score,
and make others laugh whenever they feel sad.
It's your life,
don't let people define who you are,
just simply be yourself,
and that'll take you far.

Hey guyz! I know that I'm a little late, but
happy 2005! My first week back to school was awesome! I don't know if I've ever been happier with my schedule! I have a friend in every class, and my classes all really don't seem that bad. I mean, don't get me wrong, AP Government and Algebra 2 will probably begin to stress me out by the end of next week, but my teachers are really cool and so far so good. I'm also really happy about lunch this semester because I've had bad luck in the past, ending up with hardly any friends in my lunch period, but this semester we seem to have a full table. A lot of my yearbook friends have the same lunch as me, and well, yearbook people are always fun to hang out with!
Well, something that comes along with going back to school after Christmas break is a report card, and I must say that I am very happy with my grades. I received my first 100 in high school from journalism which was totally cool.
I've been having a really hard time lately trying to figure out what classes I want to take next year. I had been planning on taking Co-op both semesters therefore eliminating journalism completely, but now I'm starting to lean more toward journalism instead of Co-op. It would be totally awesome not having to worry so much about a class and getting the extra money for college while also receiving a grade by taking Co-op, but I have to admit that journalism is what I want to do with my life, and so it's probably more important for me to continue on with it. Of course, my closest friend in journalism will definately not be taking it next year (lets just say that some people really don't enjoy the class) so I'll be pretty sad without her.
Journalism is really quiet this semester because a lot of people let, but there's still a lot of drama with who's going to be editor next year. We all think that our teacher is going to pick this one girl, and well, we all really don't want her to be picked. It's not that we don't like the girl -- she's nice, and she works really hard for the staff, but
I really want the editor to be someone who I know will try to represent the whole entire student body. It needs to be someone, who doesn't have so many other things that she's already dedicated to, and this girl is involved in a lot of things that I know she won't give up in the near future. Personally, I'm not sure who I want to be editor. I would say my friend Juan, but he can't take the class next year. Either way, it really doesn't matter what I think. We don't get to vote or anything. So, I guess it'll be up to fate in the end.
By spring break I'm going to start the horrible battle of trying to find a job again. Last summer I filled out twelve applications and didn't get a call back until the very end of the summer. I went to the interview but didn't get the job in the end. There's this planner place here where they plan parties and weddings and so I might try to get a job there, but it's a pretty small place so I'm not sure if they'd be looking for any help. It's out in the country, and I when I went by there today I started feeling like
I should be driving a big red truck! I'm not trying to make fun or anything, I like the country. I think it would be cool to live on a farm and have horses and cows and everything. Of course, I really doubt that I could handle it. I'm not exactly a "playing in the dirt again" kind of girl, but I do love living in the South. So, I guess I'd like to end this blog by saying to all of the true farmers out there:
I admire your ambitition and your work. You truly don't get enough credit for what you do! :)
W
ow, I never thought I'd end a blog on that note!
