Ladies and Gentlemen?

Thinking: Grr…school…Grr
Listening to: Christmas Music! (104.7 the <>-<)
Dreaming of: Snow!
Dry Erase Board Says: S.A.T SAT. lol get it?
Looking Forward to: Christmas Break!
Dreading: Yearbook Deadline
New! Shout Out: BLAKE! Ask Jessi to the Christmas Dance! :)

Hey guyz! The other day we went searching for FCHS (which is where I'm going to be taking the ACT on the 11th) and well, we found it, and I must say that I love the town that it's in! It's so cute, and they have Christmas lights up everywhere. It kind of reminds me of a little Stars Hollow! Anyway, I couldn't stop laughing because on the way there we past by this street sign that was literally called "Jot-Em-Down." Okay, that might not sound that funny right now, but when you're riding down the road and you just suddenly see that stretched out on a road sign, you have to laugh at least a little.

The other day I went to this web site called Gender Genie that is supposed to be able to tell what gender you are by reading some form of your writing. Well, they say that they get it right 80% of the time, and well, I fell into the other 20%. They said I write like a man! I submitted my American Dream essay, and well, I never thought that anyone or anything would ever tell me that I write like a boy. What’s up with that? I told Grams, and she was like well, men are really good authors, and I'm just standing there like hello? So are women! What about Meg Cabbot? J.K. Rolwing? And ::cough:: ME?

Well, sadly - after about two months of writing and even making 2nd and 3rd versions to - my American Dream essay is gone. I sent it off Sunday, and it was actually kind of sad. I mean, I really have worked VERY hard on that thing and to think, now it's in fate's hands. Man, I really hope fate likes me. This is what you could win from the scholarship:

Grand Prize
The possibilities for the American Dream are as varied as the ways you can enjoy tomato soup. If you're our grand prize winner, Campbell's Tomato Soup will give you a head start on achieving your own American dream. The grand prize winner will receive a $100,000 scholarship and a "walk-on" role on NBC's American Dreams television show!
If your essay is selected as the winner from the 10 finalists, we’ll fly you, a friend, and a parent/guardian to Hollywood for 3 days and 2 nights, to appear in an episode of American Dreams. While you're there, you'll receive the star treatment including:
dance lessons
hair and wardrobe
a backlot tour
$1,000 spending money
clothing with the American Dreams logo

a signed American Dreams script and cast poster
and have your photo taken with the American Dreams cast

Plus, you will have your essay published in one of the Scholastic Classroom Magazines. As if that's not enough, you'll also receive a one year supply of Campbell's® Tomato soup!
The grand prize winner's school will be awarded over 1,000,000 Labels for Education bonus labels ($15,000 worth) to get free stuff. And the grand prize winner's teacher will be awarded an American Dreams DVD for the class, and the 2004 Scholastic Encyclopedia Americana.

Finalists
10 finalists will be selected from the 100 semi-finalists. Of the 10 finalists, 9 will receive a $2,500 scholarship, 100,000 Labels for Education bonus labels, a Campbell's varsity jacket, and a year's supply of Campbell's® Tomato Soup!
The teachers of all 9 finalists will receive an American Dreams DVD for their class, and the 2004 Scholastic Encyclopedia Americana.

Semi-Finalists
100 semi-finalists will each receive: a digital camera; Campbell's Tomato Soup hat, t-shirt and watch; American Dreams Season 1 DVD; signed American Dreams cast poster; and a goodie bag!

Okay, just reading that makes me cry because you have no idea how awesome that would be! Over the past two months I've researched other colleges (yes, I've strayed away from Brenau) ... I mean hey ... 1.) they don't have guys 2.) they don't have photography & 3.) they don't have guys! ::smiles at Bekah:: Anyway, I decided that I wanted to keep my options open, and I've found this one college that is so close to perfect it's scary. It's called Barton College, and it's in Wilson, NC. (Thinking of NC makes me wonder where they shoot One Tree Hill ... hhhmmm... I think I might take a mini vacation and tour Barton) ... Sadly though, no matter how much I want to go to Barton, I truly don't think that I'm going to be able to because of the money. That's why I've been working so hard on scholarships, but I doubt that I'll be able to get enough to go to Barton. If only I was best friends with Oprah!!! lol Oh well, a girl's gotta dream!

Uh! You know what made me mad? We had these two girls come and talk to us about college the other day in SAT Prep, and this guy in my class asked what they would do if their parents weren't paying for their college tuition, and the one girl was like, "Well ... well ... I guess I'd have to get a job!" And you should have heard the way that she said it too! She was totally flabbergasted! I was like "oh my gosh Princess, wouldn't that just be the most horrible thing ever!"

Anyway, I’ve gotta run. I’ll type later.

Happy Thanksgiving! :)

Thinking: hehehe NO SCHOOL!
Listening to:
104.7 (The <>-<) It's funny because all they're playing is Christmas music, and they keep having these famous people saying, "Merry Christmas!" and I'm just sitting here thinking dude, it's THANKSGIVING!
Dreaming of: Christmas and shopping for Christmas presents!

Hey guyz! Happy Thanksgiving! I hope all of you have a million things to be thankful for; I know I do! Anyone planning on being one of the million people who are going to be out shopping tomorrow? Well, I am and I'm excited about it to. I'm going to attempt to find all of my gifts for my friends, but I might have to wait a little longer on a few things. We're also going to go search for the high school that I'm going to be taking the ACT at so that on the day of the test we won't be freaking out because we don't know where it is.

Well, guess what?!?!? I found a dress! It's beautiful too, sort of a magenta color with glitter on it. I really honestly think the dance is going to be fun. A lot of my friends are going, especially my yearbook buddies, (Paul, why do you keep calling me Skippy???) and my friend Kryssee (you go girl!) is on the Christmas court! I know that her and Juan will make the dance fun no matter what! :) Anyway, I'm really excited about my dress, and I even have an appointment to get my hair done for the dance! hhhmmm ... I wonder when Heather and I are going to have to decorate those trees...

In journalism we have some of the most random conversations, but they are all very funny. The other day we (me, Heather, John, Paul, Kyra and Rachel) were in the library, and we got in trouble for being too loud so I felt bad and said that we all should write the librarians a letter apologizing. Well, we did and when my friend Rachel went to give it to the one librarian she said, "We're sorry," and the librarian was like, "No you're not!" OMG! That was so mean! I mean, here we're trying to be nice and apologize, and she was so rude! So, yeah, now I'm like scared to go in the library.

Anyway, in the past my friend Heather has told me that I remind her of Anne Hathaway in The Princess Diaries, but she didn't mean it as an insult ... at least ... I hope she didn't mean it as an insult ... anyway, I can understand what she means because I am kind of funny in that awkward kind of way, I absolutely HATE talking in front of the class and when I first got my braces off and had to wear my retainer during the day I kind of sounded like she did at that one point in the movie. Well, on Friday, my other friend Rachel told me that I kind of remind her of Mandy Moore in A Walk To Remember, and so I'm like do I really dress that bad?!?!? lol She said that it wasn't that though ... lol ... she actually said that it might just be my hair or something ... but whatever ... I'm cool with it ... so I guess I'm a cross from Mia Thermopolis and Jamie Sullivan ... sure, why not?

I went to the eye doctor yesterday because well, I need new contacts, and I've been wanting to get new glasses for a while now even though I never actually where my glasses except for when I'm at home, but man, it's costing me a fortune! The doctor was nice, but of course he was kind of a flirt which freaked me out a little, and then the lady that was helping me pick out frames (I'm getting the rimless kind) was handing me all of these glasses at once, and so finally I was just like, "Um, can you only show me the ones that are in a good price range?" Of course she had been showing me frames that were like $300, and so I was just standing there like lady, do you really think I'm THAT dumb? Anyway, I'm glad that's over with.

Well, that's all for now! I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving, and have some fun before you have to go back to work/school!

American Dreamer

Thinking: hehehe IT'S FRIDAY!
Listening To: 104.7 The Fish ... I called in to win a free turkey dinner a little while ago, but sadly, I wasn't the 14th caller.
Dreaming of: Next Wed. - 5 days off!!!
Dry Erase Board Says: Find a dress!
What's in Jen's CD Player?: Ashlee Simpson (it's a GREAT CD!)
Life Is...: Calm

Hey guyz! Wow, it's been a crazy week, but it's gone by fast which is always good. We had a bomb threat on Wed. so we all had to stand outside for like two hours while the police searched the entire school. It was kind of weird because it was the first ever bomb scare at my school, and so some people were kind of freaking out even through we all knew that it had to just be a prank. Anyway, fourth period was only 20 minutes long that day so that was kind of fun, but the down side was that the threat happened before even "C" lunch and I have "D" so after we all came back inside we had to wait another 15-20 minutes before we could even eat lunch. Everyone was starving!

We have a new librarian this year, and she's really cool. Have you ever seen any of those anti-drug ad's in magazines? Well, if you have, she actually makes those with people from our school on them and hangs them up in the library ... so my friends Heather and Rachel and I asked if we could be on one, and she said sure, so our anti-drug is friendship and we are "filed under junkies". lol The picture looks really cute, and it says something like: you think we're just junkies but we're athletes, writers and part of the yearbook staff and the last time we lit something up was when we were taking pictures. Friendship ... our anti-drug. Okay, to some of you that might seem kind of dorky, but we all think it's pretty cool. Of course, it's kind of scary too because practically the entire school sees these things!

If you know me pretty well, you know that I've been working on this American Dreams scholarship essay for a pretty long time now, and I have finally finished my second - yes second - try at it, but guess what? I don't like it. I don't know what to do about it either because it seems like no matter what I do either I, or someone else that I show it to, doesn't like it for some reason. I'm starting to wonder what my American Dreams really are, but I guess I kind of feel like if I really expressed simply how I feel in the essay, it wouldn't be unique enough and I'd never have a chance at winning. Oh well. That's my life. I either never win, or I'm always in last place ... no joke, it's true ... kind of freaky, huh?

Well, tomorrow I will be searching - once again - for the perfect dress for the Christmas Ball. It's soooo hard to find a dress, and I have no clue why. I mean, I knew that it was going to be hard because when I got my homecoming dress last year, I found it in the first store that I went in, so I knew that I wouldn't be that lucky twice, but still ... there's gotta be a dress waiting for me somewhere! Today in journalism everyone was talking about how they really don't want to go to the dance, but they really have no choice because we're sponsoring it so it's kind of assumed that we all are going and someone asked me if I actually want to go and I was like uh, I dunno ... but I actually do really want to go. I mean, for some reason it seems like it's the "cool" thing to be like "dude, I so do not want to go to this dance, it's gonna be so lame" ... but oh well. I want to go ... and I want to look good ... which brings me back to the whole dress dilemma. lol

Well, ::yawn:: that's all for now ... I'll type to ya later.

Over The Drama

Thinking: You know, it really would be cool if money actually did grow on trees!
Listening To: Ashlee Simpson
New Fav Song: LaLa
School Sucks Because: There are too many projects!!!
Reading: The Prince and The Pauper - yeah ... it's for a scholarship essay
What's Good On TV?: Gilmore Girls has been awesome lately! Logan is hot! He can call me Ace anytime! :)

Hey guyz! Well, I've been wanting to update for a while now, but honestly there hasn't been many interesting things going on lately. I might have me-hall Tuesday which would totally suck because I would have to stay at school until 4:50, but my friend Juan has declared that we (the "clean team" - don't ask, just go with me here...) will not have it! I'm hoping not because I really did do my job, and I don't think it's fair to punish all of us when only some of us don't do what we're supposed to do. Anyway, I'm searching for the perfect dress for the Christmas Ball! It's so hard too because there are hardly any dresses anywhere! You walk into a store, and they might have like three and all of them are either way too expensive or really ugly. I'm definitely going to the dance though because as I've written in the past, it's sponsored by the yearbook staff, and so it's kind of expected that we all go. It's December 11th, and boy is that day going to be fun! I have to take the ACT that morning! :) Well, I know this is a short one, but I've gotta run ... I'll update again soon...
